Apparently, the Cavs' organization feels the same way because it announced Friday that it was reviewing Brown's job. The overriding theme that night from anyone associated with James was that Brown's coaching was exposed. He also placed some of the blame on Cavs head coach Mike Brown for not insisting that his star player operate out of the low post. Instead, he felt that James let Boston off the hook by settling for jump shots. After watching James' bizarre Game 5 meltdown against the Celtics, Oakley refused to believe that James was hurt. Oakley is another, especially if James is looking for an honest voice. If James is looking for insight into how things work at 2 Penn Plaza, he has two good resources on the Cavs' bench. Jent was a player under Van Gundy, who hired Malone before the 2001-02 season. What's interesting about Jent and Malone is that they both have a history with the Knicks' organization. "He's got a great poker face," Malone added. Michael Malone, another Cavs assistant coach, says that the only thing he knows is that James would make a great card player. Cavs assistant coach Chris Jent, who has been LeBron's personal workout coach for four years, says he's never broached the subject with James. "Only LeBron knows his next move."Įven those close to James maintain that he has not given any indication about that move. "Everyone has an opinion but not everyone has an informed opinion," says former Knicks coach and current ABC/ ESPN analyst Jeff Van Gundy. And not to be discounted is the possibility of James heading south to become Dwyane Wade's running mate. Or maybe he'll take on Broadway and join the Knicks or work with his buddy Jay-Z and sign with the Nets. The hottest rumor has James jumping to Chicago to play with Derrick Rose and maybe bringing along John Calipari to coach the Bulls.
